Doctoral student wins Outstanding Paper Award

Extreme Materials Group (XMAT) from The University of New Mexico’s Department of Nuclear Engineering won an Outstanding Paper Award at an International Mechanical Engineering Congress and Exposition (IMECE 2021) this Fall.
Md Mehadi Hassan, a doctoral student in Nanoscience and Microsystem Engineering working with Professor Osman Anderoglu, was the lead author of the paper that won the Outstanding Paper Award (Runner up) in Advanced Manufacturing Track at The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME's), International Mechanical Engineering Congress and Exposition (IMECE-2021) in November 2021.
The paper’s title is "Investigation of Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Additive Manufactured AISI - 420 Martensitic Steel Developed by Directed Energy Deposition Method".
