Graduate students from UNM’s Nanoscience & Microsystems Engineering and Biomedical Engineering programs joined forces to participate in the Girl Scouts Camporee on October 8, 2017, at Haynes Park in Rio Rancho. Hundred of girls learned about the basics of science through hands-on experiments using our Building with Biology and National Informal STEM Education (NISE) Network Nanokits.
Despite some wind and a little rain, the turnout was great – and so was the enthusiasm of the girls!
Special thanks to Anthony Salvagno, STEM Program Manager, Girl Scouts of New Mexico Trails (and UNM PhD graduate!).
