Student Research Day 2016

March 21, 2016 - UNM Nanoscience and Microsystems Engineering Program

Research Day

Student Research Day 2016 will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2016 in the UNM SUB. It is a student-led collaborative effort between the NSME and CBE Graduate Student Associations to give STEM-field graduate students an opportunity to present their research to the general public. The event is being organized to interest and connect with the local scientific community and industries in order to generate communication, collaboration, and possible entrepreneurial ventures, and is currently co-sponsored by four UNM departments: NanoScience & Microsystems Engineering, Chemical & Biological Engineering, BioMedical Engineering, and Chemistry & Chemical Biology. Students have the opportunity to compete for a $1000 prize pool by presenting conference-styled oral presentations and poster presentations. There will also be invited presentations from scientists from Sandia National Labs and Air Force Research Labs. The non-prize option of 5-minute lightning talks is available for the more entrepreneurially minded. All STEM graduate students are welcome to submit an abstract to nsme@unm.edu, and we would like to invite the general public to come learn about the exciting work done at the University of New Mexico, and then socialize with us!

Please RSVP for the catered banquet no later than Monday, April 11, 2016.
